PME Diploma Course - Royal Icing, Piping - 4 Day Intensive - 25 hours

The PME Royal Icing & Piping Skills Diploma is an Internationally recognised Certificate course packed full of everything you need to know about working successfully with royal icing to coat and decorate cakes and will take you to an intermediate level.
This course is FAST PACED! It will help if you have some experience working with royal icing before you attend. You may wish to consider attending 'The Wilton Method Course 2 - Royal Icing (Flowers & Cake Design)' first, this will teach you the basics.
Working on two main projects, you will learn and practice many techniques:
- How to marzipan a fruit cake & coat using Royal Icing, making & storing Royal Icing.
- Piping techniques; shells, scrolls, straight lines, bulbs, rope boarders, basket weave, piped flowers, inscriptions, using stencils, scroll boarders, runout / colour flow techniques for collars, motifs, cookies, lettering & numbers.
- Brush embroidery, lace designs, advanced piped boarders, bridges & extension / stringwork, piped lace pieces, assembling multi tiered cakes, cake portioning, cutting, assembly & presentation.
- An insight into the business end of cake decorating covering areas such as packaging, transport & delivery costs, cake pricing guidelines.
You will have free use of all our equipment, such as turntable, rolling pin etc. You will also receive a complimentary Course Kit (worth approx. £100) containing a workbook and all the other equipment you require to complete the course. We do ask that you supply your own materials such as marzipan, sugarpaste, icing sugar etc. A list is emailed to you once you have made your booking, as an estimate these items will total about £35. In addition you will need a particular size fruit cake, a recipe will be provided. If you prefer and for your convenience, you can 'pre-order' everything from our 'on-site' shop and receive 10% off your purchases, everything is placed into our classroom ready for your first lesson. For all our classes, we recommend that you bring a notebook, pen and a camera to your lessons, you will also need to bring your lunch each day as food is not provided.
