ONLINE - PME Diploma - Fondant/Sugarpaste - 4 Day Intensive
This is a 'live stream' online and fully interactive 4 day (25 hours) group course with carefully planned lessons where you watch 'How To' and create alongside your tutor asking all the questions you need as you go.
The PME Sugarpaste Skills Diploma is an Internationally recognised Certificate course packed full of everything you need to know about working with sugarpaste to professionally cover cakes and make cake decorations.
If you are self taught or fairly new to cake decorating this 4 day intensive course is an ideal way to get to grips with cake covering skills and working with sugarpaste. This course is livestream and interactive, you will be learning and practicing the skills alongside your tutor and will have plenty of opportunity to discuss, correct and ask questions. The course is FAST PACED! If you are completely new to cake decorating, it may help if you have some experience using sugarpaste before you attend. Our one day beginner level workshops 'Introduction to Sponge Cake Covering & Character Modelling Skills', although this is not a requirement.
Working on three main projects you will learn and practice many basic techniques such as:
- Coating fruit cakes, sponge cakes & dummies, Crimping & Embossing
- Fabric Effects, Swags, Drapes, Frills & Flounces
- Ribbons, Bows, Sugar Embroidery, Pastillage,
- Modelling Fun Figures, Simple sculpted Novelty Cake
- Texturing, Fabric Flowers & Leaves, Inlay & Applique
- Stacked Cake Design & Handling
- Designing Celebration Cakes & Colour Balance
- Basic Business Guidelines, copyright & licence
Once you have made your booking we will email the 'Live Stream' lesson link (Zoom) together with instructions on how to set yourself up ready to join. We will also let you know what equipment and materials you will need to get ready before your class begins. To acheive your PME Diploma Certificate you are required to attend and take part in the whole 'live stream' course.If you would like us to email a copy of the kit list in advance of your booking or you have any questions please feel free to Contact Us.
You will also receive a complimentary Course Kit (worth approx. £100) containing a workbook and the majority of the equipment you require to complete the course. We do ask that you supply your own materials such as marzipan, sugarpaste, boxes, boards etc. A list is emailed to you once you have made your booking, as an estimate these items will total about £45. This list can be provided in advance of your booking if required. In addition you will need a particular size fruit cake, two sponge cakes and a quantity of buttercream, recipes will be provided. If you prefer and for your convenience, you can 'pre-order' from our 'on-site' shop and receive 10% off your purchases, everything is then placed into our classroom ready for your first lesson. For all our classes, we recommend that you bring a notebook, pen and a camera to your lessons, you will also need to bring your lunch each day as food is not provided.
