What overnight accommodation would you recommend?
For eating out there are a number of restaurants in Caterham Town Centre which is 2 miles from the hotel but can be reached quickly and easily by car, bus or train. If you are travelling via the M25 to get to us this hotel is 5 minutes drive from Junction 6 (just past Clacket Lane Services). It is also on a direct train route from East Croydon, Clapham Junction, London Bridge or London Victoria stations and so is suitable if you are travelling by train from other parts of the UK or flying into Gatwick or Heathrow.
Our most local low cost hotel accommodation is Caterham/Whyteleafe Travel Lodge Hotel which is fine for a short/overnight stay. It is a short train journey / 7 minutes drive from both Kenley station (our Kenley classroom) / Caterham Station (our Caterham Studio).
Airbnb also offers plenty of other local accommodation options, take a look at the properties that are situated near Kenley, Caterham, Purley or East Croydon Stations or near the 434 or 407 bus route. If you wish stay a bit more central to Croydon where there are shopping centres, supermarkets and places to eat Premier Inn London Croydon Town Centre and Easy Hotel Croydon are both a short walking distance to East Croydon Station. By train, it would take 15 minutes to get to Kenley/Caterham Station and on a fast train to London Bridge/Victoria station about 20 minutes.
If you are staying with a friend or relative or have found somewhere to stay but are not sure how close they are to our school venues or would like more information about our accommodation please feel free to contact us . We will be happy to help you.
What happens when there are bad weather conditions?
If you need to begin your journey sooner and are unsure if the class will run, please call Hannah Collison: 01883 340529 / 07963 717063 before you set off.
If you are attending a regular weekly class or a multiple day workshop that has already begun, a 'catch up' date will be arranged or extra time will be added to the remaining class dates that course.
If you are booked onto a workshop that has not yet started and Inspired Creations make the decision to cancel the class we will offer students either the option to transfer to an alternative date, a transfer to a different course or to receive a full refund.
If our classes are unaffected by bad weather but you are unable to attend a course because of the conditions local to you, unfortunately our cancellation policy will need to apply. We will not be able to offer an alternative date or refund.
Please note that travel and accommodation expenses will not be compensated for should Inspired Creations need to cancel, offer a 'catch up date' or re-arrange a course date. Please ensure you have adequate travel and cancellation insurance cover.
What should I wear to my course?
We will provide you with an apron to protect your clothes.
Long hair should be tied back.
We advise that cardigans and jumpers should not be worn as loose fibres can spoil your work.
Long finger nails and nail varnish are not recommended.

What do I do about lunch? Will there be a break?
We usually break for between 20 to 35 minutes for lunch. You can bring a packed lunch with you and store it in our fridge, we have microwaves for any food that needs to be heated. We do have shops a 5 minute car drive away from our Caterham venue and a 1 minute walk from our Kenley venue but we recommend that you bring your food with you in the morning.
There is an outside garden/courtyard with seating area that you are welcome to use.
I would rather have a private one-to-one class, is this possible?
The tuition is tailored to student requirements, whether this is brushing up on existing skills, learning new skills or requiring help with a particular cake.
I want to learn something specific, do you do bespoke courses?
How many other students will be in my class?
When does the day start and finish?
I have an allergy; can I still come on a course?
We are unable to guarantee a 'free from' environment. If your allergy is particularly severe and you decide you wish to attend a class, please ensure you bring the medication you require with you. Please be aware that our staff are not authorised to administer any medication.
Does the course fee include materials and equipment?
We do not sell equipment or materials ourselves but we have a good relationship with our local cake decorating suppliers Items Sugarcraft Centre, where you can purchase the items needed. If you decide to place an order with them this would need to be done in good time, to ensure that they can source everything you need. Please remember to collect your order directly from their shop. If your class is at our Kenley venue the shop can organise for your order to be placed in the classroom ready for your lesson. If your class is at Caterham, please arrange to collect your order direct from the shop.
I have comments about the course I have been on, where do I send them?
Where can I buy cake decorating, food decorating, chocolate and sugarcraft products?
Where is your Studio?
How do I find out more information?
We look forward to hearing from you.
